The purpose.

The purpose of the Highlands Foundation is to support the nonprofit entities of Highlands Health System and other nonprofit community groups that promote community wellness and fund opportunities that improve the accessibility of healthcare for the people of the Big Sandy Area.


2011 Poker Run for Autism

The 2nd Annual Poker Run will be held on August 20, 2011 to benefit the Highlands Center for Autism. Registration begins at 9am at the Honda of Prestonsburg. The ride will be from 11am to 4pm. A cookout will be directly following the ride at the Honda of Prestonsburg.

Highlands Center for Autism Funding Project



 
Of the families who have inquired about the Highlands Center for Autism, the majority of them cannot afford the program. Today, it is urgent that we provide children diagnosed with autism the opportunity for a better life.

Currently, the Center’s most critical need is to fund the annual tuitions of the many children whose families do not have the financial means to place their child in the program.

This can only be accomplished with your help – your generosity will provide individual scholarships and help create an endowment for future scholarships. To date, Highlands Health System has invested approximately $1.2 million into the program, including $750,000 in operational costs for the first year.
